Casalguidi
Description
This workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced embroiderers. Casalguidi had its origins in the small town of Casalguidi, just outside Pistoia in Italy. This form of raised whitework embroidery developed in the late 19th Century and was extremely popular for embellishing items such as bags and clothes, as well as household linens. Casalguidi has a very distinctive style and is said to resemble Italy’s beautiful marble sculptures. In this workshop you will stitch a lovely pincushion as you master some of the basic stitches and techniques used in this style of embroidery.
