Reticello Embroidery
Description
This workshop is aimed at all levels of embroiderers. Reticello, also referred to as Reticella, is a form of needle lace dating from the 15th century and remaining popular until the first quarter of the 17th century. Traditionally worked in “white on white”, like all needlework, Reticello has evolved over time and whilst remaining true to those traditions, we will also be adding a modern twist by using hand dyed threads to embroider the “filling” stitches. In this workshop you will learn the basic techniques; such as preparing the fabric for embroidering, before mastering a couple of Reticello stitches to create a pretty dragonfly.
