To Plant a Garden – Full Kit

Description
Sitting in my garden during the first lockdown in April 2020, I was reminded of the lovely quote by Audrey Hepburn: “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”. I was somehow comforted by the fact that, whilst the world stood still, my garden would continue to grow and flower, that autumn and winter would arrive and that spring would return the following year. I stitched this design during that lockdown. It somehow grounded me and kept me sane through what was a very strange time. This design was first published in issue #130 of Stitch Magazine.
There is a bit of fabric painting in this design and a set of instructions on how to do this are included in the kit. The painting is optional, but it does finish the embroidery nicely. Other alternatives, which work just as well, are discussed in the instructions. The kit includes: design screen printed onto the fabric with backing muslin, all the ribbons, threads, needles and a comprehensive set of instructions.
Please note that this design is suitable for those embroiderers who have already mastered the basics of silk ribbon embroidery.
