Wessex Embroidery

Description

Wessex Stitchery enjoyed support during the 1920’s and 1930’s, but very little has been written about it and there is even less information about its designer, Mrs Margaret Foster of Bath.  It is a form of counted thread embroidery, but is less restricting and can be combined with other needlework techniques such as Drawn Thread and Blackwork.  Wessex Stitchery uses a few simple stitches to create a wide variety of stitch patterns.  In this workshop you will learn a few of these beautifully creative stitches; all of which will be stitched on hand dyed fabric using hand dyed threads.
